Cromwell Permit - To Go or Not to Go

The Minister of Energy refused Cromwell’s application for pipeline permit in the country. Reasons for the refusal behind could be the environmental impacts brought by the oil exploration project. However, it is too difficult to neglect the positive economic impacts brought by this development and the country desperately need reform and inputs for its sluggish economy and despairing society. Is there a way for the government officials and the oil company to work together to balance between economic impacts and environmental concerns? Representative from the NGO Coalition actually have mentioned that people should work toward a common goal of striking a balance between the environment and people’s livelihood. Gladstone will report any news about the Minister of Energy’s decision.
