Cromwell playing with fire, says retired diplomat

London: Diplomatic Affairs Monthly, May 2008
=============================================

"The recent announcement that Cromwell Oil is making what appears to be an alliance with the de-facto opposition group CDUL in Discordia looks like a very shortsighted move," says Sir Roderick Hindhead, retired doyen of HM Foreign and Commonwealth office and Emeritus professor of Foreign Affairs at Morse College, Oxford. Drawing on experience as ambassador in three African countries he says "Cromwell can't afford to bypass the national government in this way and one can not be surprised if the President and his advisers take a very negative view of Cromwell's attitude. Respect for authority counts for a great deal in Africa and Cromwell ignore this at their peril"

Cromwell stock closed at 371 amid continued rumors of a "mystery buyer" picking up the shares.
