UPDATE

The government of Concordia are stalling the deal to grab even more money than the $1.5B to $3.7B per annum that will receive already. Specifically, Concordia demands an upfront “permit fee” in excess of $350MM from Cromwell.

The logging industry accounts for well over 10% of Concordia’s GNP. If boycotts on exports were to happen, combined with declining production of diamonds & cocoa (despite government claims), the government would be in deep trouble – they are desperate to secure an oil deal, but playing like they have all the power.
