Earlier today, Verdant Future provided the following press release:

Verdant Future – Transforming a Village with Clean Water

Did you know? Verdant Future works to train the Discordian indigenous on eco-friendly and sustainable clean water initiatives? The clean water initiative started in early 2008, and Verdant Future estimates that more than 100,000 indigenous now have access to clean water which will help reduce water-borne illness such as cholera. Worldwide, cholera affects 3-5 million people and causes 100,000-130,000 deaths a year as of 2010[update].

Met by the following response from the Enweh Villagers:

Merritt Mimsaweh, elder of the Enweh Village Community responds, “we are not aware of any activities by Verdant Future in our area. From our perspective, Verdant Future seems more concerned with the welfare of indigenous animals than with indigenous peoples like our community. Through our own resources and with the prior support of Cromwell, our villagers have access to an ample supply of clean water. We are concerned, however, about Cromwell’s recent absence in our community given the positive experience we have enjoyed with the company historically. We have invited Cromwell to send development and PR representatives to our village to develop a mutually-beneficial and long-term covenant between the Emweh Peoples and the company.”
