Cromwell Responds

The Washington Post, Contributions by Lester McCoy & Clara Wishart-McCoy

The oil giant speaks out in response to recently posed questions:

· What are their plans for protecting the endangered Dwarf Rhino?

o Cromwell has committed to building a fence around every newly built road in the community to limit access for poaching activity.

· Block 77 has a relatively low presence of HIV/AIDS in comparison to neighboring regions; how will Cromwell maintain this?

o Cromwell will strengthen their AIDS education efforts with DiscoCrom, using posters, town hall meetings and by offering free preventative measures to the community.

· How will they minimize the “boomtown” effects in light of rapid economic development of this region?

o Cromwell is of the opinion that boomtown effects are the result of an increase in contract jobs in the area, not an effect of the funds they recently dispersed as payment to those impacted by the toxic spill.

· If corruption in the “transparent” Discordian government persists, where will you draw the line?

o The Discordian government has made an agreement to keep an undisclosed percentage of the revenue they receive from this project in the community (building schools, roads, etc.). If they do not comply, Cromwell will walk away.

These are great answers, but they just generate more questions:

· What about human rights? Would Cromwell walk away if the Discordian government was not protecting basic human rights? Or only if they do not direct investment as agreed? What do they really care about here?

· What if the fences aren’t enough to protect the rhinos? What’s the next step for protecting this endangered species?
